There was a time in my life, long ago
Your words fell like rain
Over dusty plains and thundering coasts
And then we fell into the deep and dark
I held you close to me,
Just to feel your heart beating for me

My heart's like melted wax
Poured over the back of a photo of you
Let set to harden there
So wherever you fare, my heart goes too
I've seen the worthless things this life can give
Far better to waste your time,
Then try in vain to live
