To The Blue Sky. . .

This summer I'm going to Chile. I'm really excited. I know that God is going to do incredible things, as he has done in the past. I can look at the works he's done and trust that he is mighty and will lead me.

"We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."

King Jehoshaphat spoke these words in the 20th chapter of II Chronicles, when Israel and Judah had gathered at the Temple to seek the Lord. They were praying for deliverance from an opposing army. For me, after this summer so much is up in the air. I don't know where I'm headed, but I know that keeping my eyes on the Lord is the important part.

"Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Jahaziel... as he stood in the assembly.

He said: '...This is what the LORD says to you: "Do not be afraid or discouraged... stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you... Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."'

Jehoshaphat bowed down his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the LORD. Then some Levites from the Kohahites and Korahites stood up and praised the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice."

The next day the army of Israel and Judah marched out to meet the coming threat with musicians in the front singing, "Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever." By the time they arrived at the place of battle, the opposing armies were already dead for God had caused them to turn on one another.

Don't be afraid; don't be discouraged. Let tomorrow worry about itself.
